Solenoid resistor unhooked ???
Greetings! I am working through a newly purchased 1999 EZGO and took the cover off the controller because the Run/Tow switch is not working. While I was checking it out I noticed what I think is the solenoid resistor not connected on both sides of the solenoid. I am going to attempt to post a pic with this post and it was hard to get a good pic of what I can see. It looks like it is connected on one side but the other side is hanging loose for some reason. Before I reconnected it, I just want to be certain I am correct and there is not a reason for it to be in there like it is ????

Re: Solenoid resistor unhooked ???
Likely this is a DCS drive. The resistor board also houses the diode (or 2) - if the diode went bad it could have shorted the system and caused the cart not to run. Disconnecting it could have been the quick fix but, not the right fix. Get a new one - it's an important part of the operating system.
Follow instruction & pay close attention to orientation when installing the new one. Installing it backwards can damage other cart components. |

Re: Solenoid resistor unhooked ???
Is there a way to test the existing one or is it better just to discard and buy a new one ?

The less you probe around in the electronics of a golf cart the less trouble you will cause.
