Default New speed sensor/magnate still no go

Hey guys...This must be the month for weird things to happen to golf carts...

I have a 2008 48 volt club car...AQ08.... so its a DS/IQ

Problem was dropping speed to a crawl...I did the test for speed sensor(roll off and neutral while driving) and it failed both test....Ordered new speed sensor put it on and it did same thing...Looked close and the magnate was cracked so ordered new magnate and it changed nothing....still the same..starts off ok, about half throttle it click out and goes slow again...still fails the sensor test...

Where would I look next.....

Thanks
Bill

I would think you may have got a bad new speed sensor. Just my guess, others will know more about it.

I guess it could be a bad speed sensor...the only thing that really bothers me about it being something else or something that might be burning them out is when I put the new magnate and speed sensor in, it ran about a 1/4 mile before it started acting like a bad speed sensor....

Was just wondering what beyond the speed sensor that might burn one out or something else that would make the speed sensor faulty.

Does it matter which the magnate is installed...The directions stated put the red marked side inside...which I did....

Hate to keep buying things just to try...

GE motor or ADC motor? GE magnets have to go a certain way. ADC magnets will work either way.

Just a guess ...but did you get the magnet far enough down on the motor so that it isn't hitting the sensor? It should be flush with the end of the motor spindle. Is there marks on the speed sensor like it is rubbing?

Just wanted to post an update....Seems the new speed senor I bought was bad....Ordered another and it works fine...

I did notice the first one I ordered had a blue wire instead of the normal green..Read somewhere they come from China and are often refurbished....Thought I was getting a deal.....Just saying

Thanks for all help.

Glad you got it. Confirms for others you can get bad "new" parts.
