Default g16 engine question;;

has anyone had any luck,or bad luck with fuel system cleaners? my stock 97 g16, has a slite roughness . not bad but I would like it smooth. have done everything else , filter, plug, but have not taken the carb off; did fill with fresh gas, years ago with a car I used gas cleaner, and it released all the gunk in system and plugged the filter, what a mess.. anyway, would apc. any opinions,, thanks

I treat all my small engine gas with Seafoam and Sta-bil. Also installed fuel shut-off valves in everything. If it's gonna sit for more than a few weeks, I'll run it outa gas. I believe this helps the carb from getting mucked up. You could clean/rebuild the carb and replace the fuel lines if they're old...

Dave, I do the same ,about running the engines dry, before winter, but I just got this cart, a few months ago, and I don't think it was ever done, I think I will get some sea f. run it for a while and see, I really don't want to take the carb off, but will if it does not get better; thanks
