Default 91 electric cc / no reverse

Hello all.I'm new to the site and golf cart repair. Thanks in advance for any help! I've had my cc for about 4 years w/out incident. Recently my kids ran the batts totally out & pushed it back home. After charging, I tried to back it out of the shed. The back-up beep sounded but no reverse. I pushed it out to take a ride and after 50 yds. it slowed to a stop. Being kids, I don't know if there is more to the story or not. Any thoughts ?

Check the contacts on the FR switch.

Lift the seat and there they are on the backside of the F&R switch. With the key off move the F&R switch side to side revealing the contacts for a visual inspection. Signs of burnt, rough, or excessive pitting are all no good.
Replace the seat, power on, while Seated try wiggling the lever to make contact

Thanks scotty. Contacts are fine. I followed another thread and jacked up the cart, hooked the green reverse wire to the main batt. Reverse works, so I'm thinking at least one batt is bad in that group. Thanks for your help.

golfman, the thread I read only dealt with someone wanting to have all voltage for reverse. It really didn't address your problem. Did you read scottyb above about the f/r switch contacts?

Golfman,

Your problem lyes in the F/R switch or possibly a bad connection. Many Club cars use half voltage for reverse. The half voltage connection is mid-pack. You may possibly have a bad connection mid-pack. It will run forward but not in reverse.

RMC,

A bad battery or connection will wreak havoc on the whole system. Your system sounds to be intact. If you left the batteries in a discharged state for a lenghty period of time it will cause harm to your batteries. Tattle tale signs of a bad connection will be when the charger is plugged in and it acts stupid, battery cables and connections geting hot. Plug the charger up, let it site for 20-30 minutes and fell around for hot cables.
