Default G-8 GP 396 build

Got my motor the other day. Cleaned the carbs and will fire it up soon. Got the tranny mounted and welded up the spider gears. Fabbing up the engine mounts as you can see. I think I am going to leave this one close to the ground with no lift kit just for a grass and ice cart. Should be fun on the frozen lake and harder to tip over with it low to the ground. I will post more pics as the build progresses.

Just some toughts... I'd like to see you install the secondary your going to use, it will help with alignment and possible belt lenght. Do you have electric start or just pull start on the engine? Since the G8 has the battery on the passanger side you have some room for positioning. Also if your keeping it stock height, stiffer rear springs will stop to much travel between the swing arm and main frame (G8's probably have the softest suspenssion known in golf car land). What engine and hp rating? Thanks for the build pix's...keep them comeing

The secondary that was on the tranny was pretty bad so I am looking for a new one. Any help with that is much appreciated!! Where is a good place to get the heavier springs? need them for another cart too. For now just a pull start didnt look into an electric start setup yet. For what I plan on using it for the pull start should be good enough. I guess its a 55 HP engine. Thanks for the tips and keep them comming!!!
