Default columbia cart question

Found an old columbia cart and the guy says the switch key is also the fwd / rev switch and is bad , sometimes it works sometimes not , sometimes you have to switch it again and it will 'catch ' anyone had any dealings with somthing like this ?
I've heard it run and it sounds good body not so bad but I've had no dealings with a switch like this and want to know if It is a common problem and parts available before I buy it .

Just my 2 cents worth....Yes the key switchs were a "wear" item. They are available, but kinda pricey (70.00 aftermarket I think) The problem is if you have to buy from Columbia/Parcar (dealer) ...You will pay out the nose for parts. I'm glad I'm nolonger one...My customers just cried when I told them what a special part would cost. There are many parts available aftermarket though. Good luck Dave
