Default Could someone explain all these clutch options!

Can anyone explain the differences (Meaning what is accomplished by doing it and how it compares to the other options). I know most increase low end torque but at what cost? Is one better than the other? Should any be used in conjunction together? I am new and confused. I searched for a comparison thread but could not find one.

Machining the Stock clutch (As Done By Carts Parts Plus)
28 degree clutch (I know the stock clutch can be upgraded with off the shelf parts)
Shorter belt
Driven Spring replacement (Sold by Carts Parts Plus EZGO Power Kit) Others sell them too.
After market clutch (Such as Comet 780 Clutch)
Jakes Driven clutch Kit

Thanks
Ralph

If the drive clutch (engine) is still in good shape, I would suggest on a Yamaha the spring/spacer only kit and on an Ezgo, I would try the shorter belt before doing anything (these suggestions are, in my opinion, the least expensive for torque upgrades). I personally don't like machining the clutches. I think it weakens an already used clutch and could potentially be dangerous (just my opinion).

On an EZGO you want the 28 degree option. The shorter belt will sacrafice some top end speed. I do a lot of trail riding and rock crawling and it works very well. At slow speeds it will let the engine rev up into the torque band without increasing your speed very much. It depends on how you use your cart. Just my own exp and thoughts. Good luck
