Default Cushman OMC fuel pump

I have a 1977 Cushman 4 wheel Truckster with an opposed OMC engine. It has been sitting for several years before I purchased it. I have spark to the plugs and am ready to try and start it but am wondering if I have to worry about the fuel pump as I plan on hooking up a fuel supply directly to the carb. I have the tank removed so no fuel will be pumped through the fuel pump. Will running the engine with no fuel to the fuel pump cause any damage?
Thanx
Harry

Harry most likely your pump is bad anyway....a VERY common failure on the 18 and 22 hp OMC flat twin engines.
I have engine spec and repair manuals for your engine..also a fuel pump that wont make your carb flood over like an electric does

I keep the pumps in stock.....$37.85 plus $5.00 priority mail to the US (Canada more)

you just remove fuel lines from original fuel pump---replace if they look aged---attach to the new pump, inst a nipple fitting into either intake port tube and hook a line from the new nipple to the pump...your all set! No carb flooding and my 18hp runs in the upper 4000 rpm range wide open running at speed without any problem ...unlike before with original pump

Thanx

Could you get me some manuals for a cushman truckster? If you have it in a pdf form that would be great.
