Default 36 to 42 volt

2006 PDS cart not lifted, what would happen if I wired a 7th battery in series with the others to get 42 volts? It would seem that I would have a bit more pep but can the controller and motor ect handle the extra voltage? I guess if this worked real well lots of people would be doing it.
Thanks
Earl

Would you not need a solenoid to match ? I have not seen any 42v solenoids. maybe some else has. there is a post on guys using a 12v battery to give a boost when needed. this was wired separately from the pack and had its own 12v solenoid and switch. I am planning on going up to 48v.

You'll probably fry the controller and maybe the motor along with it. Controllers are voltage specific as rated.

I see some 42 volt carts here they all use 48 volt solenoids and controllers.... I think it is a waste not to go to 48v at that point what's one more battery

You cannot charge a 42v pack with a 36v charger.

Until last week I had a 42v Western, 22mph, 400a 36/48v Curtis 1205 controller, 36v solenoid, 36v SOC meter, 7 Trojan T-105's.
Wiring these up for 42v is a piece of cake and you don't lose your bag well.
I have a Lester ll 42v charger for sale, where are you located?
Probably can't ship these too far, the freight $$ would probably kill the deal.
Scotty, anybody down there need a charger?

This one's my personal cart, I did a 48v conversion, bought 6 new 8v from Sam's. Had all the rest to do it. Left the solenoid at 36v wired to 40v in the pack. Works great 26mph on the flat with the windshield up.
I've got a ton of Western 42v carts in my area, I guess I'll see who needs a charger.
Thanks Scot.
