Seat Cover Install
I didn't like the white seats in my G16 and mentioned in another thread that I was going to paint them. Gorno suggested new seat covers instead, and sent me the link for the covers (skins) from CCP. Thanks G
Seat back removal was easy--2 bolts. The covers are very nice quality, fit great over the originals and were very affordable. I used a pneumatic stapler and 1/2" staples for the job. Just made sure they were tight and had no wrinkles. |

Re: Seat Cover Install
The seat backs were easier to do than the cushion. The design of the plastic seat bottom made it harder to get the tip of the stapler where I needed it to be. I removed the grab handles and hardware from the seat bottom to make it as easy as possible.

Re: Seat Cover Install
Yamahas are a bit harder to do because of the heavily contoured plastic seat bottom ~ Compared to the flat plywood bottoms of Ezgo and CC.
But the plastic never rots out or breaks down I wish the others would make seat bottoms out of plastic Looks like you did a good job ... I like the black better, 2 |

Re: Seat Cover Install
Nice job on the seats I did a top and bottom last week myself,Sometimes I get a few wrinkles and I use a heat gun to shrink them out.

Re: Seat Cover Install
Nice job Dave That stapler with the long "nose" is exactly what you needed to use for the job. Heat gun, yes, but be carefull not to burn/melt the material. I have used a close dryer on very low heat, to help make the covers more plyable and help with the wrinkles while installing. Another tip is to use a moist/wet towel and an iron to help get out the wrinkles after the install. Scotty, if you had to make a living installing seat covers on the Yamaha plastic seat's......You'd probably hate Yami's even more

Re: Seat Cover Install
Hey Dave,
Seats look great!!! The black looks way better than the white. Glad we could help with the covers. We also offer them in two tone with accent piping. You will be much happier with the new skins over painting the old ones. |
