Upgrading stock Curtis PDS 275 amp controller to 400 amp
Has anyone used Controller Test Services (CTS) out of California to upgrade their stock Curtis PDS controller from 275 amp to 400 amps? It comes with a 1year warranty and the gentleman there says he has good luck with these. I know everyone here swears by the ALLTRAX DCX400PDS controller, but a upgrade is half the price. Any input or experience with these upgraded controllers would be greatly appreciated.

I think I did in my first post! Rebuilt controllers are not a good investment. You're not saving any cash going that route. You won't get the power from their controller that you will from the AllTrax, Every 400 amp from them had to be replaced - Ask Roady - he's seen the shelf full of burnt controllers from them - What else can I say? I've got some great pricing on the AllTrax on my catalog site...

The upgrade is 1/2 the price and 4 times the headache with QC.
IMO, you pay once for good quality and many times over for poor quality. If you are contemplating building hunting carts and selling them, I would stay with something that is proven and won't get you a bad name. |

Re: Upgrading stock Curtis PDS 275 amp controller to 400 amp
I heard a saying on XM radio the other day and I think it fits here.
A guy was having some work done and he told the professional " you professionals are expensive". The professional replied back " if you think we are expensive, try a amateur". The professional in this case is Alltrax and the am is CTS. |
