High frequency chargers
Besides the efficiency and weight are there any other pro’s to these style chargers? They’re almost impossible to repair unless you have a degree. At least with the old chargers the repairs were easy to figure out and cost effective.

High frequency chargers
Some of them allow you to reprogram the charger through a
USB port for the battery you are charging. Most like you said are what is referred to as pluck and chuck. Other wise know as throw away when bad. Added more info Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: High frequency chargers
With Bluetooth, cloud, charge information recorded, 4 year warranty, etc. They are very hardy chargers and generally are not going to fail too quickly.

Re: High frequency chargers
They’re electronic, and as with any other electronics, you should use a dedicated surge suppressor to help protect any new style HF charger from power surges.
Most are not repairable, at least not by the average DIY. There is always a trade-off for higher efficiency. Most HF chargers cost less up front than a transformer charger. Will it last as long? Maybe, maybe not. Some are beginning to show problems after only 5-6 years. |
