Default 1995 electric club car ds reverse issue

I will be as brief but detailed as possible. 95 club car ds electric 36 volt - moves forward but no reverse - solenoid clicks one time when pedal is pressed to move in reverse - I think the previous owner put in the incorrect forward / reverse switch (could that be the issue?) I cleaned all posts and reconnected all wires according to a diagram I found online. Thanks for any help.

I have a 1995 not 93 and it's a 48 volt not a 36 volt. It has a v-glide and coil resistors. I replaced the series motor (the brushes actually fell out when I opened it up) and the solenoid and all I get is a solenoid click and no movement. I have 49 volts from the batteries. I think it may be a wiring issue since I bought it from someone that said "some guy" worked on it who said he knew what he was doing. I checked online for wiring diagrams but every diagram I check online is different. I don't get overheating anywhere. Could it be the F/R switch? I replaced the micro switches. That reminds me, my F/R switch only has one micro switch with 2 connector posts. Thanks for any help.
