Default 56v conversion?

Is this a thing?

I haven’t really been able to find any info on doing this. I want to increase my range a little more and increase my top speed.

I currently am running a 1996 48v series cart (6-8v batteries). It has a 500a Alltrax controller and supporting mods. I’ve been tempted to add a 7th 8v battery to the pack. In theory it would increase my range and spin the motor a little faster, thus more top speed.

Is this a viable option?

Where would I get a 56v charger?
Could I have my current charger modified?
Would I need to bypass the OBC?

charge 48 volt cart like now , buy 7th 8volt battery and 8 volt charger (and charge it )…..
add 7th battery to pack and off you go ….
drive till need charge ,
take 7th battery out of pack (some kind of "quick change " where ever you mount #7 so you can go back and forth from 48 to 56)
charge as before …..

DISCLAIMER :....no clue how this would affect OBC thingy and cart could catch on fire !!! but that's the way me and beer would try it.....
