Default 60V while charging?

Is it normal for a 48V cart to show 60V while charging? It doesnt do it all the time.

Not sure what batteries you have but according to the US Battery charging guide on the 8v batteries that I bought this week they require a max of

Bulk Charge Constant current @~10% of C/20 Ah in amps to 2.45+/-0.05 volts per cell

you will have 24 cells in a 48v bank so if you divide 60/24 =2.5 then you are at the top of what they allow with the +/- factor.

If you have other batteries that don't require as much then you may be overcharging.

Maybe when you see the 60v it's because you drained them down enough to need the bulk charge and other times you're not taking them down enough to need bulk?

Just a thought.

60v is okay. Divided by 24 cells that is 2.5 volts per cell.
