Default boiling batteries?

I just put 6 new interstate GC8's in my 2014 club car this morning. I took it for a test drive and everything seemed fine. I plugged it into my E.R.I.C charger about 11 oclock and right now they're gurgling and sounds like the water is boiling if I listen close. Is that normal!!?? I've a slight acidic smell in the garage too but read somewhere that is common? Am I okay here?

Totally normal.
It's best to charge new batteries before driving the cart. New batteries don't have a full charge because they discharge themselves during storage. Once they have a few charge cycles you should not have any more gurgling or smell.
Leave the garage door open if you can to get some ventilation.

Also the ERIC chargers have different charge algorithms for different batteries. If yours is the industrial model with the button and display you can change the algorithm yourself to match your new batteries. More Info on that can be found on the Delta-Q website.

Definitely leave the garage door open unless in maintenance mode. I didn't one time and my carbon monoxide detector went crazy in the middle of the night.
