Lithium Ezgo- an off the road project.
Whoo Hoo - Here we go - Lithium off road Ezgo thread. I finally got the cart home. Here is a short list of what I'll be working with.
2014 Ezgo TXT48 I bought it off lease minus the batteries and motor. Ezgo Factory Posi-traction unit Strech Long Travel front end Ausco rear disc brake set FSIP High torque motor 16 cells LifePO4 3.2v 100 ah Chargery BMS and charger First step is to modify the battery rack - At first glance it looks like you could take the center support section out and put an aluminum plate in We will see. |

Do you plan on enclosing the pack to keep it nice and dry?

Re: Lithium Ezgo- an off the road project.
I'm not sure it is going to need an enclosure. These are hard case cells and we are dry 350 days a year but, I'm learning as I go, and open to suggestions.
I'll post pics of the cells later. I'm mostly concerned now with how to secure them so they stay put in the case of a roll over. Here are a couple of pics to break the ice. One of the raw cart battery bay & a few of the posi traction unit from Ezgo |

I'm following intently.....or even with "more intently" if that's possible.
Well, here's a comparison of the EZ-GO factory LTD Slip vs my Plowman's LTD Slip. I don't wanna redirect this thread to a LTD Slip discussion.....this is just a "Hmmmm" Ok post. |

Re: Lithium Ezgo- an off the road project.
I know ? The Ezgo unit is is oddy empty when compared to Plowman's and the BU kit.
And Posi discussion is welcome. This being my first one besides a factory limited slip Carryall I owned briefly - that thing was funny because when it got stuck you slid to the other side of the seat to weight the spinning wheel and away she went. |

ScottyB feel free to pop that Ezgo posi open to see the clutch discs, it goes back together really easy. It's really just like a real automobile posi. That gap that currently exists is the amount the "spring washer" preloads the posi friction discs. I been considering popping one open for the benefit of the community. If you don't, I will try to when I put a posi in this 72v ac TXT I'm currently building.

Well, I went ahead and opened one up. This is the same posi foumd in the Rxv. It has a "spring washer", 5 reaction discs, and 4 clutch discs stacked in alternating fashion.
