Default brake adjustment

hopefully yall can see this pic -

I read on here about the adjustment screw - in the pic is the "rubber boot" on the bottom of the brake drum / wheel assembly - is that where I find the brake adjustment screw? I just pull that boot off to find the adjustment screw?

this is on my 06 cc iq ds - recently lifted (6") and the brakes have alot of play in the peddle - brakes don't engage until I push down hard. Before the lift I had real good tight brakes. all the lines and connections seem fine.

thanks

You have internal self adjusters, not an exterior adjustment screw.

You have to take the drums off to get to the adjusters inside the brake drum. It is a star wheel like a cars drum brake set up...turn a couple clicks (notches) at a time until the shoes just touch the drum and you can hear a very slight scrape from drums hittin shoes while spinning the drum.

Next, when both drums/shoes adjusted, climb under the middle of cart and follow the brake cables to where they both attatch to a braket which has a threaded rod going thru the middle of it. You want to tighten the nut on the threaded rod p to take "almost" all the slack out of the cables. Hold the threaded rod part with a pair of vice grips...Fairly easy..Keep it simple.
