Default 98 DS regen 1 or 2 question

I have a 98 regen with the 2 solenoids one with the coil on it. It has been very slow. Looking at older threads, I've learned that the solenoid with the coil on could cause sluggishness if it's bad, and that it could be bypassed. I temporarily bypassed it and unplugged the speed sensor and it operates normally. My question is can I just bypass this thing and leave the regen unplugged and be fine, or does other things have to be done to bypass it.
Thanks

If you want "normal" Regen braking restored, you'll have to replace that solenoid - it has failed, obviously. If you plug your sensor back in and try running with it bypassed, your Regen braking will be too severe. But if you don't require Regen braking; you have effectively configured it correctly now, I think.

I don't really care for regen braking, so just bypass and unplug speed sensor and I'm good to go?

This is an old failed system and I wasn't going to post until you did but I think he can just bypass the solenoid and it will operate without regen?

I agree with everyone else, what you did is the correct process to by-pass the Dynamic Brake solenoid (leave the speed sensor unplugged).

You will not have regen braking, you will also not have roll away braking. If you want roll away braking it can be done by grinding the magnet a little at a time. You will then have the speed sensor hooked up to operate the roll away braking.

Got it bypassed and it is back up to 15 mph or so with normal torque. Thanks everyone for the info.
