Trojan T875 or Ranger 160s?
It's time for batteries. Seems the T890s aren't available anymore.
Run maybe 8 to 16 miles per day, mostly morning and evening, and can charge in between uses. Some hills but nothing to challenging. Some heavier loads but that is only occasionally. Not using it daily, sometimes and couple three days per month, other times every weekend. A friend of mine works at a CC shop and recommend the T875 as totally adequate for what I do but I know that 34 amp hour is a significant amount and for about $21 more per battery it seems tempting. However if I don't need to spend an extra $126 plus tax then I don't mind saving it either. |

The T875's will be fine but it appears to me that the T890's should still be available. They are listed on the Trojan web site and for sale at multiple online suppliers.

Re: Trojan T875 or Ranger 160s?
My supplier tells me they have scaled back production of the T890 in favor of the 160 Rangers. He said he would have a longer lead time on acquiring them. They are only $10 more each than the 875s. I would prefer them.

Re: Trojan T875 or Ranger 160s?
Ordered a set of T890s to be picked up next week. Thanx for the input. Looking forward to not worrying about batteries for a few years.

Re: Trojan T875 or Ranger 160s?
Quick update. My friends Trojan rep called him back today and told him T890s are no longer available. Phased out and replaced by the Ranger 160s. He agreed to sell me those at the same price so it looks like that's what will be in my cart for the next few years.

Looks like I need longer hold down bolts. The new batteries are quite a bit taller.
