Default diesel golf cart build

hello everyone love the site,
I have a 1993 I electric golf cart I got for free, I also have a 2cyl to Perkins diesel engine that I want to put in it, I want to have reverse and I know the easiest way to get reverse is with a G2 rear trans axle, I can't find one in my area, so my question is, what other rear axles had forward and reverse in them? I am a over the road fabricator and maintenance tech So fab work will be easy, I have seen the starter/ flex plat rev drives but would rather not go that route, any ideas. Thanks Tim

welcome, cant wait to see what you come up with.
I dont have any recommendations on what years, etc fit from a yamaha, but interested in the diesel swap...
i did a diesel swap, but it was a one lunger, and air cooled so fairly simple. still working out bugs too.

You can use any 4 stroke rear transaxle if you have fab skills. The Ezgo ME29 is a pretty common one, but come at a steep price. I got my G2 rear end out of a whole cart that I parted out, parts paid for the cart, got the rear end for free. You just have to keep your eyes peeled.

Try posting a thread in the parts section, I recently saw someone in TN that had a few rear ends....might be worth a try?

Thanks for all your help guys, I'm in Indiana about 30mins south of Notre Dame, the funny thing is most the cart shops around here are closed for the season.
