97 ezgo txt not starting
I have a 97 ezgo txt with rebuilt engine. After a lot of trouble shooting finally got it running. Ran for a couple of hours then dead battery. Tested it and it turns out is was the voltage regulator. Replaced it and tests great now. Ran it for a few more hours then dead again. This time nothing. Battery is charged and solenoid tests fine according to a test I seen online.

Could be a fuse. See if the small terminal on the solenoid that is connected to your pedal switch is getting power.
One end of your meter on the negative battery terminal. The other on the solenoid. Then step on the pedal. |

Re: 97 ezgo txt not starting
1 terminal is constantly reading -13.46 with pedal pressed or not pressed. The other reads 0

Re: 97 ezgo txt not starting
That doesn't make sense.
One terminal is connected directly to ground. That means that when checking voltage between it, and the negative battery terminal, it should be zero all the time. The other small terminal is connected to the positive side of the battery, but the voltage has to go through the key switch, and the pedal switch first. It should only have voltage when those two switches are making contact. You need to figure out where that constant voltage is coming from. Here's the part that doesn't make sense. If your solenoid was good, and there really was a constant voltage at that small terminal, your starter would be turning all of the time. I will also ask just to clarify. You did put the meter leads on the small terminals, and not the big ones, right? One more thing. Your meter leads were backwards. That's why you got negative numbers. |

Re: 97 ezgo txt not starting
Ok. Go to your key switch. See if there is voltage there.
I still say blown fuse. I don't know if you have an inline fuse, or if there is a box hidden somewhere. Either way, you need to find the fuse. |

How do I check if there is voltage to the key switch? Also I can only find 1 fuse on this golf cart and it looks good

Re: 97 ezgo txt not starting
If your meter has a continuity setting use it to test the fuse I have seen fuses that look good but when you test continuity it doesn't check out
