Default Controller shot?

Hi, I'm a newby and found this cool site while searching for troubleshooting answers. We have an 07 EZ-Go, 36v, lifted with the "speed" jumper on the controller. We bought it off a show room floor as is and never received owners manuals. My 17 year old son, who is weapons grade stupid, jumped the cart over a small rise which dislodged the batteries, jerking some of the wires loose. I put the batteries back in and repaired/replaced the damaged jumper wires but the cart wont move. I read on this forum that all electrical work should be done with the controller in the "tow" position. I didn't know this as I had no manuals. Have I fried something? Also there seams to be no polarity on the leads from the controller. When you try to hook it up one way you get the large dead short type sparks. when you try to hook it up the other way, you get the small, slight load type sparks, so I assumed this is the right way. Hep me, Hep me please!

Here you go, download this service manual. Its the best thing I can suggest right now. It has all the wiring diagrams you can reffer to.

Yea well, we love our kids, but thats why I call him weapons grade stupid, The best way to win the war in Iraq is to send him on vacation there and they would capitulate to any demands we want! I am somewhat of a gear head tinkerer and I don't think it's in him. I try to include him in repairs and projects but sometimes he can actually drive the cost up to the point where I would rather fix the large heavy tractor parts myself and let him play "vidyer games".
