Default Gas cart acceleration

I am new to golf carts and had a question about general operation. When you first takeoff it feels like you have good acceleration and power but then shortly there after it almost seems like the cart is just coasting And not picking up anymore speed. Is that the governor kicking in, or something else?

Default Re: Gas cart acceleration

That sounds about right. It will accelerate strong, and then once you get to top speed, it will sort of "coast" for a second, and then just do the minimum necessary to maintain that top speed. That's the governor doing its thing.
