Default Please HELP!!! Motor is Making A Loud Ticking Noise...

Hi everyone,

I need some help regarding a 2012 EZGO TXT 48 that just started making a loud ticking noise. I know the carts are not supposed to be driven at low speeds/partial throttle, but my brother was not aware of this and after a few miles it started making a loud ticking noise...

I have a video of the sound and I have now also remove the motor and remove the stater from the motor as well. I have a couple of questions:

One does this motor appear to be repairable given that one of the wires on the stater looks to have heat it up and expanded towards making contact with the outside of the motor?

Two if we are able to grind, sand, or machine down the raised copper wire and we put it back together, is there a risk of blowing the controller?

Thank you so much for any thoughts or comments that you have.

The part of the motor that spins is called an Armature.
The Stator is what the stationary windings are called, however in a sepex motor like a TXT48 uses they are typically called the Field windings.

Removing some of the copper that is hanging out of the armature is going to imbalance it, so it needs to be rewound and I'm not sure if that is practical.

Try sending the pictures to Plum Quick and asking if it has any core value.
