Default G1 oil mixture question

What are the symptoms of too much oil in the fuel. Just finished a top end rebuild. Was told 50:1 to break it in. Wont rev out, plug looksnwet/oily. Starting to wonder if i have too much oil in my gas. Any thoughts?

Wet and oily plugs are symptoms of too much oil. I run 85 to 1 to allow for use in multiple machines but a lot of other guys run 100 to 1. 50 to 1 sounds a bit too thick.

I ran both 85:1 and 100:1. 100:1 seemed the best, ran that for 2 years + and saw no negative effects whatsoever. Factory oil injection system mixes between 150:1 and 300:1 depending upon engine rpm, according to the factory manual. Yes, 50:1 is way too much oil.

Make sure you use a good high quality "AIR COOLED SYNTHETIC 2 CYCLE OIL".

I always used "ECHO" brand from Home Depot.
