Motor upgrade!
I have been discussing a motor upgrade with one of the sponsors and his advise has been educational and inspirational! Now here is my problem!
Has anyone ever upgraded to the Admiral D-2 in a G22E without moving the shock? I measure 10 3/8" to the shock where I think the motor will seat and the motor is about 0.5". I don't have a spec sheet but that measurement is probably at the center of the motor and the circumference may be slightly less. Any way it seems like too close tolerances for the data. It looks like moving the bottom mount about 1/2" would work. The only problem is I don't weld! Any experience the buggy gurus have i would appreciate. I am thinking try it but have a welder on will call if I have to fabricate. thanks Hoopt |

Re: Motor upgrade!
Can you post pics of the top and bottom shock mount so we can see what you are up against.

Re: Motor upgrade!
The bottom mount, but there is not any room to move the top.
The top mt allows the shock to rotate along the axle, but there is not any room to move. I plan to slot the bottom mt and position the shock where there is not any contact. Thanks Notice how the maximum motor length is at the center of the motor, that part may be forward of the shock and I may not have to modify. I was wondering if anyone had experienced this. |
