Riding on the beach?
Do any of you guys do this?
I know about the salt (rinse, rinse, rinse after riding) but are there any other pit falls of things to be aware of? Stock 08 pds will be upgrading with the alltrax 400 and wires. Thanks |

Re: Riding on the beach?
The ITS throttle input device and peddle position indicator hates water..... it is mounted under the floor behind the go peddle, here in lies the problem. If you hose off the underside of the cart alot you will eventually get water into the unsealed ITS compartment. Even people who habitually wash their carts can have a problem with this.

Has anyone successfully sealed up the ITS box with silicone caulk or something similar?

Re: Riding on the beach?
you can easily take the 4 screws on of the top of the box and then seal the top, and you can seal the side where the wires go through the side....BUT where the problem exists is where the shaft goes through the front of the box, its not truly sealed, so to seal the box, you would need to devise a way to make up that seal, there isn't a lot of room, and the springs on the outside rest against the box.

Re: Riding on the beach?
One thing you could do is jack it up on jack stands and clean and spray or brush on undercoating, or truck bed liner, to help protect exposed metal. Remove batteries as the tray may need some attention.
