Thanks Gidy. Currently, my batts. are ranging between 6.15-6.27 & the entire pack is 37.4. I haven't charged it for a few days. Did your v-glide arc like mine did/is? Rich, you mentioned "telling the controller what to do." Are you referencing the resistor coils? LittleBob:

Key on, Ntr. - nothing on small sol. terminals.

Key on, Fwd., no pedal- 37.4 volts on both small sol. terminals, 37.4 volts on big sol. terminal to FNR.

Key on, Fwd., press pedal down - micros (2) & solenoid (1) click, 37.4 volts across both big sol. terminals, coils get hot, motor doesn't turn... @ WOT, v-glide will arc.

Thanks All & BGW

Yes. I do not think that it should be arching. Does the motor run on 12 volts seperate from cart wiring?

When I bypass everything, jack up rear end, and test with 6 volts, the motor doesn't turn. That's why I keep thinking its the motor. Could it still be the motor even though it tested good? Very frustrating

Go to google and type in how to test a golf cart motor and it will tell you. Most answers will be from bgw. If you are hooking it up right and it does not run I would think the motor is no good. Golf carts are weird, they do not always make sense.

Well, I just dropped off my cart at the local shop to diagnose the problem. Hopefully know something in a few days. Any takers on what the problem is? I think the motor is bad... it tests ok but fails in normal operation. Anyone? I'll post the answer as soon as I hear from the shop.

Thx

You did put new brushes in it and repaired the wires right and tested it without being wired to the cart. Usally use 12 volts to check but 6 should have at least grunted. I would also think that it should be the motor BUTT!!!!

I replaced the brushes & bearing. I tested the motor with 6v & 12v per instructions found @ BGW... & no go. So, we shall see

Check those first.
Thanks Gydyup. I'm having intermittent quitting when I shift from R to F. Batteries are about 3 years old. I will check the cells with a hydrometer looking for a dead cell, and get back here with the results.

All battery cells check good with my hydrometer. When cart won't go, I get it to go by moving the Fwd/Rev knob back and forth while up and down on the accelerator.
I sprayed the F/R control contacts with CRC contact cleaner, and that seemed to do the trick. The accelerator seems more responsive. Worked ok last night on a short run. Time will tell. If you don't hear from me, that means spraying the control contacts worked.
