Default CC DS Access Panel Nut Blind

There are two screws that hold on the rear access panel on the CC DS. Looking at the parts manual, these screws are held in by something called a nut blind.

I have one on my cart that is looser than it should be; spinning if screw binds up at all. I likely could fix with a bit of RTV, but am curious how to replace if I wanted to.

It is unclear to me how to take the nut blind off the cart or how a new one would be installed (never seen a new one). Almost looks as if it is crimped on??

Thanks for any insight.

Its called a blind nut and they can be bought at a CC dealer. They just snap in. Getting a loose one out that has the screw in it may be a problem. If the screw is out, you have to pinch the back side of it with pliers and kinda push and it will come out. With the screw in it, you'll have to get a hold of it from the back side somehow to hold it while turning the screw or bolt, which ever is in it.

Thanks.

Blind nut does sound better that nut blind .

I did get the old screws out with a little PB blaster and persuasion. My cart has been modified to hold 8 6V batteries, so it is very tight for space back there. My fear is that the screws freeze up in these blind nuts in the future and I have a major project to get the body off.

If I get a new blind nut, I see how it goes in, but how do I make tight to the body so it cannot spin?

When they snap in they are VERY tight. A little anti-seize on the screw will keep it from freezing up to be able to get it out again.

I use a lot of these, you have to drill the hole a
little larger but they resist vibrations very well and
if you use a little never seize they come apart easy.
