Club Car driven clutch helix reversible?
I’ve noticed that the helix on my 89 Carryall, like all the CC driven clutches I’ve seen, has mirror image sides and wondered if they were somehow reversible so the other side could be used once the first side is worn. Not sure if that’s a stupid question, just curious why they’d mirror them if they weren’t, as Yamaha’s appear to be one sided.

Re: Club Car driven clutch helix reversible?
They are "reversible" but the direction of the helix is dependent on the direction that clutch rotates. The helix points should be on the forward facing side of the buttons in the direction the clutch spins.
If the direction of the helix is wrong, the inside clutch sheave can spin and slam against the buttons and can snap them off and break the spring, and may cause irreparable damage. |
