Default Club Car DS 2000.5 vs 2009 Ezgo buying option

Hi guys.

I'm completely ignorant about the CC DS 2000.5 and I got a good offer to purchase one. Also I've been offered an EzGo TXT, Jack Nicklaus edition 2009.

I'm torn between getting the old DS and use the money to fix it up... just saw this nice looking cart http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/members/blueandwhiterv/

Or just get the newer one as it is... pretty good condition btw.

What should I learn or be aware about DS?

What mods should I consider and more or less what amount of $?

I can get the DS for around $1200 usd and the 2009 EZgo for $2800

Thanks

Its a no brainer for me. DS all the way.....

That is a tried and true, tough as glue, bold and beautiful, full of piss and vinegar, all around great machine. I have had 3 and 1 ezgo. The ezgo was sold in 3 months. Just like the design, looks and fell of a CC so much more.

And as far as the mods around here; I think they all will take donations but they all are about the same. You mainly see Rib and Lockman around here....

And you can do a lot to DS's and if that one is in pretty good shape, grab on and go.....

Hey thanks for the shout out! I got my cart for $1000 a couple years ago. I love it. Obviously I have done work to it as my budget would allow. I love my DS and I'm glad I have it. Dave at Revolution and Scotty B at Carts Unlimited can help you with anything you need. CC and EZGO is like Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. I'm in the Club Car corner. Good luck.

Thanks. I'm leaning that way.

...

PS: The DS is kind of ugly, but it's growing on me. Kind of those British armored vehicles from Africa WWII

No man! They are like the old 67-72 Chevy trucks - boxy, lean and MEAN!! You can't go wrong with it. (and it has an aluminum frame - ezgo is a metal frame! )

Others could answer the ease of install better than me. I traded a local golf cart dealer a weekend bounce house rental in trade for the Spartan Body plus installation. The Club car has an aluminum frame so no rust.
