Club car precedent

Im new to electric carts. I got a 2005 club car for $250 and its in excellent shape just needs batteries. I was wondering what happens when you move it around when it is not in tow mode? I found out recently that its bad to mode it without turning on tow mode.

If you tow or move and do not put in tow mode, the current created by regen can feed back thru your controller and cook it.
It is best to put in tow mode anytime you move the cart.

And the resistance makes it hard to push/pull.... (And you should hear the alarm going off)

Just a push or pull will not cause damage, but long distances would surely impact you....

Ok like I said I bought it without it running so I guess i wont know if it works or not until I get batteries for it

What a great buy. Get yourself a bottle of this stuff and everything black will look like new including the pedals and floor mat. It is not slippery. The stuff is called BLAK and is available on Amazon. The 8 oz bottle will do 3-4 Precedents that look like yours with the trim faded gray.

Ping, I’d encourage you to,look at Rustoleum’s bumper and trim restoration spray. Much better and longer lasting product. That back to Black stuff I’ve found works for a while but fades as the petroleum distillates dry. Just a thought.
