Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
I looked all around but all other info I found had other issues also.
1996 TXT Series....stock... Went out this am....backed out of the parking, all worked as it should....shifted to forward and the buzzer stayed on. Key off, buzzer on. So, I unplugged the black lead to shut it up. Thought maybe some rain found its way in but all was dry. Still, let it sit all day....tonight, the buzzer still runs all the time. The operation of the micro switch shows movement....but my question is....is the outboard micro switch ONLY for the reverse buzzer? Must have lost the location of the on line schematic I was using..... OK....found this finally.... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...l-img_3237.jpg .....looks like it is just for the buzzer.... |

Re: Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
That's too hard to read this early in the morning. Try this.
If yours is like this, then the micro also sends the controller a signal telling it you're in reverse. If your controller is programmed to ignore it, then nothing will happen if the switch fails closed. If your controller is set for half-speed reverse, you should only get half-speed in either direction if this micro has failed closed. MS-4 |

Re: Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
FWIW,
Mine's a 1998 TXT Series. Ignore the optional diode and/or fuse if yours doesn't have them. Mine didn't. Print this out for use in troubleshooting, as it's so much easier to follow than the one you had. The only difference is the lack of controller B+, which is addressed by the note. |

Re: Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
Here is a better copy of the schematic for a stock series cart.
MS-4 turns on the beeper and tells the controller to run at half speed (Orange wire to Pin-3) Unless the microswitch is totally FUBAB, the outside circumference of the F/R cam is not pushing the lever in far enough to open the NC contacts. |

Oops! I didn't realize the controller pin numbers changed from stock.
I still think Alltrax' schematic is a lot easier to read. |

Re: Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
Details, details, details.
Ain't none of them easy to read. When I was proof reading, verifying and validating Technical Manuals for the USAF, I would have rejected every golf cart service manual and schematic I've had the pleasure of looking at so far. |

Re: Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
Maybe there should be two. One that's easy to follow the circuits, kinda like Alltrax', and another that's more location oriented, like EZ-GO tried to do.

Re: Reverse buzzer on 24/7...
Mine has full speed reverse, and appears to put power to the orange wire. The cart runs great....just this *&%^&^$ buzzer issue. I like it on because many family members drive it.
The F&R was new last year, local purchase heavy duty. May try another micro switch from the old one.....but I just don't see the switch being bad as I check it out. Movement sounds and looks good. If I get a no rain day, I can check the operation with an ohm meter just to be sure. Other than that, I am lost. |
