transaxle issue
2000 model club car with the FE290.
My transaxle has been making a grinding noise and popping out of gear in reverse. I tried to adjust the selector cable with no luck. Recently I disassembled the transaxle and replaced a bearing on the input shaft. Now the assembly is making a loud whinning noise and still pops out of gear in reverse. Everything inside looked good and I cant figure out what is wrong. Also, what type of lube do I need to run in the transaxle? Hopefully someone can help. Im about to disassemble the axle again and see what could be wrong. Thanks |

Re: transaxle issue
I think I may have figured it out. After disassembly again, I found that a plastic spacer was missing. I ordered the part, along with some new bearings and I should have it going again soon. Everything else looks good. Im suprised noone else has had this problem.
