Club Car DS 48v reducer question
I have a 48 to 12 reducer and noticed the positive wire to the headlights was extremely hot only after about 30 sec. i check the voltage and it’s coming out at 14 volts, not 12. Is that right? I also k ow i have a short in the headlights and thought that may be it but the 14 colts caught me off guard. Do i need to replace the reduced? Thx!

Re: Club Car DS 48v reducer question
That is ok (mine is 13.6v). Most, just like an alternator, puts out a higher voltage to compensate for surges or demands. (Case with an alternator is to supply a trickle charge to the battery)

Re: Club Car DS 48v reducer question
Depending on the reducer capacity and if the lights are Halogen
the current demand may exceed the reducer capacity. What reducer do you have and what type of lights? |
