Default Battery Warning Light - On and Off

I am new to the forum and I wanted to search for this question first, but the search function will not work. It may be my computer.

Anyways, I bought a used Club Car DS, 2005 model year. It is lifted and modified to street legal. The guy that sold it to me had let the batteries run completely out of power. I charged it up and it held a charge well. However, now I notice the Amber Battery light coming on at strange times. I just went into the garage and the light was on. The charger was not pumping any power to the batteries. So, I unplugged the charger plug to the cart and replugged it a few times. On the third try, the light went off and it started charging.

Sometimes, the light will be on and the cart won't move. So, I turn the key on and off and toggle the f/r switch. That seems to fix the problem.

So, what's happening here?

I am a newbie. So, I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Could be a trouble code, or OBC going bad. Not sure on the 05's OBC can be reset or not.

Welcome to the forum bem75..................

The batteries could be ruined. However..............

1> Make sure the batteries have the propwer amount of water in them. (Just over the plates)

2> Charg the batteries over night tonight.

3> Charge the batteries over night again tomorrow night again.

4> Charge the batteries over night again the next night.

The batteries have to be cycled a couple of times or so to get the amber light to stay off and to get a FULL, DEEP charge on them.

Just a FYI ;
when U unplug the charger from the cart allow 30 Seconds for the OBC to reset , before re-plugging (otherwise you will get whatever results were there when U unpluged it).
