An automotive solenoid is not continuous duty. It will burn up very quickly.

Correct some members use solenoids for a snow plow app. It does require a continuous duty. Spend the $$$$ one time

A Continuous-Duty solenoid for a snow-plow,lift-gate,or electric dump-body pump.Any of these will work fine and for a long time, and cheaper than a factory replacement.Hope this helps.
