Default 87 EZGO Oil Injection Removal and Governor Adjustment

Hey yall,

Just recently bought an 87 Marathon. I don't have any knowledge about these carts. I don't know if it has an oil injection system, but if it does, I'd like to remove it and go premix. What do I need to do to remove it? Also, where is the governor located?

Thanks,

It looks to be in really good condition, nice find.......

Glad you posted pics it makes your questions easy, it has no oil injection so be sure to mix the gas/oil at exactly 128:1. That's 1oz oil to 1 gallon gas, no more no less. Also, don't use premium. Regular 85 octane is what it's designed to run on, I premix mine in a 5 gallon can before pouring in the tank. That way I know it's always exactly right........

The Gov is the second cable running to the carb lever, the one that appears to be adjusted way out as to probably not be doing much anyway. But I would remove it completely, and the big lever that it attaches to down by the driven clutch, that's the one with the big white plastic cup on it......Enjoy that ride

Thanks for the help! I picked this up this weekend from a friend who was selling their house in a country club, which is surprisingly where this cart was originally used as a fleet cart.

That's actually how I found my 85 too, back in about 2000 the owner of a golf course was selling off his fleet. By the time I got there he only had 5 left, I picked the worst looking but best running one and ended up getting it for only $300. Then the fun began refurbishing it, I did have to rebuild the engine 3 years ago but it's been a great buggy
