Has anyone seen a profile for the Lester Summit II 1050W for a Leaf Lithium battery?

Re: Lester Summit II 1050W Leaf Profile
The only one I know about is 22226, which is for LiFePO4 and charges to 56v.
For a smaller pack there is also 22276 which charges to 42v. |

I contacted Lester and that was the same info they gave and they also said they didn’t do profiles for modified auto batteries. I sent another inquiry asking if they could make a profile for a Leaf 14s with a 57.2 volt charge cot off and received no reply. So I guess they think they would have liability issues if they put out a profile for a non traditional (factory made) setup. I will be selling a Lester Summit II 1050w very soon. Re: Lester Summit II 1050W Leaf Profile
I received this email from Lester Electrical tech support today. Thought you all would be interested in this.
Michael, Lester Chargers are compatible with all Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFEPo4) Batteries. These batteries are safe to use and have become the golf Industry standard. Club Car and EZ-GO have standardized on this lithium battery chemistry. Lithium batteries used for Automotive applications are typically Lithium Ion batteries that can be dangerous to use if the output voltage of the charger exceeds the maximum voltage recommended by the manufacturer. Our Lithium battery profiles are constant current profiles with no voltage limiting, so our chargers are not compatible with systems that require this feature. Lester Electrical has chosen not to support Lithium Ion battery applications when much safer Lithium Iron Phosphate battery types are available. Re: Lester Summit II 1050W Leaf Profile
So I have a question regarding this. Would your BMS not provide protection for an overcharge situation?
I’m still learning about BMS’ so I could be wrong about this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Re: Lester Summit II 1050W Leaf Profile
Properly charging Lithium batteries is not as much about the final voltage as it is about how you get to that final voltage.
This may help you understand better: https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/..._ion_batteriesYou should always consider the BMS as a safety device and not a means of normal operation. |
