I am in south Walton and your write up was extremely helpful. Literally don’t even try using amazon. The headache is astronomical. Prepare for these clowns to be rude and reject your paperwork every step of the way. It’s a ridiculous process but you just have to play the stupid game.

For anyone doing this absolutely do not use the online guide on FLDMV. USE THIS WRITE UP! It’s spot on.

My 2five is street legal. I bought it from the dealer who did all the work/paper work.

I'm surprised at the inspection. Having the cart run 25 mph and braking seem pretty important. And with the number of members here that talk about their cart running at speeds above 25 mph that makes it even more dangerous.

I'm sure the state does what they do for a reason. It is just awkward.

Great write up!

Seems in SC there is little to no difference from golfcart tag to LSV tag. And golfcarts here do not qualify to be LSV, they wont even title them.

Per the SCDMV website SmartSelect_20191224-230405_Drive.jpgti-007 (1).pdf

Interesting. Do they not allow golf carts on public roads then?

They do, but 35 mph and slower, only dawn to dusk, 4 miles from registered address and must have valid DL and in insurance. Having lights, signals, belts and such adds no value to legality in sc.

I just finished everything with my cart to make it a LSV and turned in my paperwork and had it inspected. Everything passed with flying colors. All I have to say is It's all in your bill of sale. Very easy.

Thanks for this write up. It helped.

how long did it take DMV to process your paperwork before they called you to schedule the inspection?
