Wrong controller in 2016 precedent?

Hello all, A couple of years ago I acquired a 2016 Club Car Precedent with a charger mounted on a 2 x 4 above the motor. it was not the Eric charger that should have come with the cart. I removed the charger and was able to acquire a used Eric charger and all was well.

Well, lo and behold, I just acquired another 2016 Precedent that had the exact same charger on a 2 x 4 setup. What were the odds! The problem with this cart is that when you press the go pedal the cart comes to full speed at half pedal, then cuts out after that. I accessed the controller, finding a Curtis 1515-5201 gray controller. The cart s/n begins with JE which I believe should have the 1515-5206 controller. If I get the 5206 controller will that make the cart run as it should? What other options do I have?
