Default uncommon key 1a source - fe350 gasser

I've replaced my ignition with the uncommon key one. I am looking for backup keys (mine are stamped 1A) Shops are charging $10+ per key with shipping. I read that someone's son used an ezgo key and that worked. Anyone with experience getting additional uncommon keys or at least the blanks?

so, i did a quick search of the key, and a few of the ones being sold kinda look like a yale keyblank...... i would definitely try a full blown locksmith before buying 10 buck key.

I tried at an Ace and no luck. I'm going to try a locksmith today.

My dealer has them for $6.95 so I will get a few there. If I figure out what blanks they are I will post.

As a locksmith for 22 years, and having an uncommon 1D key switch myself,
it never really dawned on me to look it up in my key code program...

Key blanks and cuts are based on Mercury/Mariner outboard key codes.

Here are the blanks: (aftermarket Ilco EZ numbers)

1A - CU7
1B - CU8
1C - CU9
1D - CU10
1E - 1040U
1F - CU12

Hope this helps!
