drive control system
i just purchased a 1996 txt with the drive control system. can u tell me what that is?

DCS cart. It's the cart they built before the newer PDS cart. It's the electronic's in the cart. You have a ITS switch under the drivers side floor board.

DCS = Drive Control System, E-Z-Go's first attempt at a Regenerative Braking cart. The system will prevent excess downhill speed by switching the motor into a "generator" thereby causing resistance to rotational movement and slowing the cart down. It also prevents runaway carts. The system uses power from the pack very efficiently and actually gets some re-charge into the pack when it is invoked. It cannot be defeated without replacing motor/controller/wiring. It was replaced in 2000 with the PDS system and is no longer made.
