Default 86 ezgo power troubles

hey guys i'm new here and this looks pretty helpfull. i have an 86 ezgo 2 stroke that is lacking power i put it up on jackstands and the thing runs and revs just fine the clutches seem to be operating properly, but when its on the ground after a slow start it moves ok but it will not climb a hill to save its a_ _. and it seems the longer i drive it the slower it gets. any help would be great

Sounds like its time to freshen up the motor a bit.

Can you do a compression check on the engine?

You should have between 110-125psi. 120psi is generally what you get with a fresh rebuild, at 110 your needing new rings or maybe piston and rings and your engines performance has significantly been reduced, at 100 and below your engine is pretty well worn and requires a thorough inspection of all engine internals possibly needing a complete new top end.

Check eBay. Thats where I bought my last one. From a guy out of FL, excellent customer support and his prices are rock bottom as well.

Here he is with a complete rebuild kit for your cart:

http://cgi.ebay.com/EZ-GO-2-CYCLE-GA...QQcmdZViewItem

A complete engine rebuild, top and bottom for $375. Thats really good!!! His shipping is fast too.
