Idle troubles
Hey yall I'm having a little bit of idle trouble from my briggs. It wil idle fine in neutrual, but with any load, it will die. If you try to save it by pushing the gas past a certain point, it bogs down. I checked the choke and its not the preoblem. I think since I've been running in sonme hot and dusty condtitions I need to get a tune up kit. So I will oder that today, but, is there anything else to look for? I kinda figured that since it bogs down, it might be a clgged air filter, Hince the tune up kit. Let me know if you have any more ideas. It's going to be torn down this next week for new brakes, cables, wheel bearings, and the tune up kit. Should be Fun!!

Re: Idle troubles
Is your belt too tight and putting a lot of load on it when it tries to idle in gear? I am thinking you're right about the air filter being clogged, though. Try the cheap and simple things first.

Re: Idle troubles
Checked the filter and it was clgged pretty bad. Took the pre filter off, washed it, and ran compressed air through the air filter. Runs much better. I just have to go buy a new everything tomorow.
