Ok fellas, bearing is out, brushes and holders are cleaned and brushes are sliding freely. I took the sensor out, it was located directly under a brush and underneath the plate that holds the brushes in,it is definitely a temp sensor (brand/model # thermik 021405) and I can’t find a match anywhere. Do y’all have any ideas on what I can do? 25E41789-E721-4CDC-8BB4-8BC991EDFB88.jpg

That is a 140C N.O. bimetal switch:
https://www.thermik.de/datasheets/en/1605/02_S02.pdf
You can get a replacement from ebay.

Thanks for your help, I’m looking on EBay and can’t find a thermik s02.140.5, can you send me a link by any chance?

Hard to see in the pic, is the insulation rubbed through? Are the wires damaged?

It's just a switch so it's either open or closed. Connect a multimeter to the wires and see if it has continuity.
It should be open at room temp, so no continuity. Heat it up with a heat gun and see if it closes.

If it passes the test, just wrap it with heat shrink tubing and stick it back in the motor.

Yes the insulation is gone in one spot. I’ll check the switch as instructed, do I need it hooked to power to check it? What setting on the multimeter should I use and what reading should I get? Sorry, don’t know much about this

**update** installed the new bearing in my motor and installed the armature into the bearing (by the way, these motors take 6205 2rs just like the rear axles). I also ohmed the thermal switch and it checked out good, re insulated and reinstalled it now I’m ready to close it up and put back on my buggy. Thanks for all the help y’all have giving me. Hopefully I’m as quite as the name insinuates now. It’s going to be a few days before I can get to it but I’ll post back when I’m finished and let y’all know the outcome. Thanks again
