Default Graziano Transaxle noise

My transaxle makes a whining noise and has done so since installing the gearing. Is this normal or can I do something about it?

Check out the lube or even pop off the cover to inspect it as long as the mesh isn't to tight , drain and refill with full synthetic lube, sometimes that can help.
Some gears take a little while to wear in.

Make sure your using 30w oil and not gear lube...if the problem continues you need to try to isolate the source by jacking it up and using a stethoscope to listen for any bearing problems or whatever...

What year is your cart? It wouldn't happen to be a 2009-2011 would it?

I believe it's a 2005 DS. Was modified by the dealer I bought it from about 6 years ago. I remember he said he had installed this gearing in it to increase the speed. It ALWAYS has made this noise....thought it was simply a characteristic of the gearing. Kinda like some super low gearing in an automobile.

If it is a "cool" whine, why not glue a microphone to the axle and hook it to the stereo!

If it's modified then there's really no way for me to predict where the noise is coming from. With the 2009-2011 models there's a big chance you got some of the bad input shaft bearings. They went through a bad vendor during that time period. The bearings say "NoMo" on them. Not sure if that's the name or their life expectancy.... But they've whined since new. Won't hurt anything, just noisy.

Does it whine all the time? or does it whine while accelerating, but not while decelerating.? or vice-versa? Since you say it has always made the noise it makes me think the rearend may not be set up properly.

Meaning the gears do not have the proper backlash.
