Default 2011 precedent excel speed upgrades

First I want to say I'm new to golf carts. I'm a career Chrysler mechanic 18 years and counting. I have the ability to work on my own stuff.

My cart has a 6 inch all sports A arm lift, 22 inch tires on 12 inch ITP, and a back seat. It's a typical campground cruiser.

It runs 18 mph on flat concrete via gps. So I think it's set on level 3. I have plans to let the local cc dealer look at the settings. I was told level 3 with fast accelerate and something like 14%?? ( not sure what he was referring to) Runs the best.

I was also told most people are not happy with the level 4 speed code? Cost vr gain?

So where should I start? Level 4 or should I go with controller/ motor upgrades.

I will be building 1/0 power cables. I have the wire so why not go big. I know I will need the power lug as the wire will not fit into the OBC opening.

Any help will be appreciated.

Talk to plumb quick about a motor upgrade. Then see what you think about controllers, solenoids etc.

With sc3 you should only be able to go 14mph. I suspect you are sc4 and something is slowing you down. Low tires, brakes dragging or maybe a bad battery.

Speed Code 3 and 22 inch tires will max out at 18mph (check the speed calculator in the quick links).

I don't think Speed code 4 is a cost effective solution, I would second the PQ for Excel motor as the best option for moderate speed gain.

You will loose the Regen brake with PQ, if that is important, there are other options.

Is that speed downhill?

Are you still running 18" stock tires?

That was back and forth thru town. Not really any hills here.
Upgraded club car alloys but same size and kenda pro tour 205 50 10 tires.

Wow, that motor is turning over 6000 rpm without help from gravity, that is pretty good!

So the pedal up Regen brake still works strong as before?

Thanks guys. Looks like first stop wires and maybe a solenoid. Then motor upgrade.
