Default Battery Acid vs. Garage Floor......guess who won?

I go to check the water in my batts yesterday, mostly because Scotty B (and others) have always nagged us to check. The water level was about one half to one inch below the top. I decide to put some distilled water in there and did a pretty good job, up until one or two of the batts overflowed just enough to spill over onto the garage floor. Sizzle Sizzle. I cleaned it up pretty quickly, but there is now a nice milky white smear all over my garage floor........

So here's my question(s):

1. What is the correct water level?

2. Is each cell seperate or does each little white twist cap just go into the same area?(I have Trojan batts)

3. Can anyone recommend a good way to restore my garage floor?

I have some stuff that will take rust off concrete and is biodegradable. I had six batteries overflow on my cart and this took it right up.

The stuff is called star power, you mix it in a spray bottle with water.

As for the water levels i always keeped mine a 1/2" to a 1/4" away from the top. But, i never really know what is the right level. somenone should have an answer soon

The acid should be right at the bottom of the tube when charged, you will see a notch in the side of the tube to let air out. Add water only after charging unless the water is below the plates and then fill just above the plates and charge and check again. Baking soda will neutralize the acid and then put some parts on the floor where you spilled and paint them, the over spray is the only thing to do to the floor that won't look like a repair.
